Trees – Are they important for our planet?

Trees help clean the air we breathe and make it healthy for us. Trees also filter the water we drink.  They act something like vacuum cleaners for our planet. They provide habitat to more than 78% of the world's biodiversity. Trees are also the source of key ingredients in one quarter of all medicines. And forests provide jobs to many millions of people. We are planting trees in distant countries, such as Madagascar, where forests have been damaged, with the hope of improving the world’s habitat.

What are the benefits of planting trees in countries where forests have been damaged, like Madagascar?

Trees can soothe, relax and help us connect to nature and surroundings. The colour, green, is a calming, cool colour that helps the eyes quickly recover from strain. By planting and caring for trees you help reduce pollution, create lower energy costs and improve the appearance of the Madagascar community and others.

Our goals

It is our hope to plant at least 100,000 trees each year between now and the year 2020; and, also by doing so, to offer hope through the employment people in countries where poverty is rampant.

We will allocate funds from the sale of each of our products for planting trees in Madagascar.  Each of our art products sold will equal 1 planted tree!

Why we choose Madagascar?

The vast majority of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed.  This has displacing entire animal species and has taken away the Malagasy’s ability to farm and live on the land. Entire mangrove estuaries are gone, leaving the bare earth to wash away into the sea.

We want to restore the beauty of this beautiful island by planting trees - Come join us!
